From Engineer to Dr.-Ing.
You plan, build and lead technical teams; the Dr.-Ing. gives this expertise academic recognition. The Ascendius supports you in pursuing a PhD whilst working: clearly structured, compliant with regulations, and based on 100% personal contribution. Your practical knowledge from projects gives you a head start. The university decides.
From engineer to Dr.-Ing.
You’ve long since gained depth in your field. The title makes this visible: in projects, on your CV, at the negotiating table.
Three reasons, none of which hold water.
Modular support, flexible online, with clear milestones: easy to fit in alongside the building site, sprints and deadlines.
Your professional practice is the source: a practical topic from your field: construction, process engineering, digital technology, systems engineering.
Yes, a recognised Dr.-Ing. makes a measurable difference in project management, expert reports, teaching assignments and tenders.
A qualification that stands up to the rigours of your project work.
Anyone who bears responsibility for structures, systems or products cannot afford a title that is open to criticism. A Dr.-Ing. that you have earned yourself represents genuine standing. It is not a bought-in label that will be called into question at the wrong moment.
The four pillars of academic integrity.
100% authorship & original work
Every result relevant to your assessment stems from your own academic work. No ghostwriting, no outsourcing.
Faculty-specific compliance
Doctoral regulations, admission requirements and the supervision environment form the defining framework.
Methodological expertise
Optional mentoring on research logic, methodology, structure, argumentation and presentation suitable for examination.
Good academic practice
Guided by the established principles of the awarding universities: including the DFG, swissuniversities and ÖAWI.
Four modular phases leading to the Dr.-Ing.
A clear system from start to finish. You receive exactly the level of support that suits your stage of progress.
Preparation
A suitable topic drawn from your project experience + an initial research plan for the university.

Optional: Mock examination, question practice, final text check, publishing advice.
What you’ll want to know before you get started.
I’ve been working on projects rather than at university for years – can I still carry out academic work?+
Yes, that’s the most common reason why engineers come to us. Academic work is a skill that can be relearned step by step. We’ll meet you where you are today.
Does Ascendius write parts of my doctoral thesis?+
No, absolutely not. Ghostwriting can lead to the loss of your degree and is strictly prohibited. Every word comes from you. We provide feedback, check the logic, help with structure and exam preparation.
Which topic suits my professional practice?+
Practical questions from your day-to-day project work: civil engineering, process engineering, systems engineering, digitalisation, quality assurance. We’ll work with you to refine a topic that fits the doctoral regulations of your target faculty.
Is the doctoral degree recognised and valid in my country?+
We work exclusively with state-recognised universities. All participating universities are listed in anabin, the official database of the Kultusministerkonferenz, with the status ‘H+’, meaning they are classified as universities recognised in Germany. The degree is awarded through a standard doctoral procedure involving supervision, examination and your own research output; the decision on awarding the degree rests solely with the university.
Whether and in what form you are permitted to use the degree is determined by the country in which you use it. The same criteria are checked everywhere: a recognised higher education institution and a standard procedure. Only the competent authority has a different name: in Germany, the anabin and the ZAB; in Turkey, the YÖK; in Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Education; in the UAE, the MOHESR; and within the EU, the relevant ENIC-NARIC authority. During the initial consultation, we will tell you which authority is responsible for your case and what it checks. This information is provided for guidance only and does not constitute legal advice.
How much time do I need to set aside each week?+
The system is flexible for busy professionals. Much of the work can be done in manageable digital chunks; the time required depends on the subject, the university and your progress.
Free initial consultation, with no obligation.
